❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit text in a PDF for free online? +
Yes. Upload your PDF, switch to Edit mode, click on any text, edit it in the popup, and click Apply. Download the edited PDF when done. It is completely free with no sign-up required.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server? +
No — your PDF never leaves your device. All editing, rendering, and PDF generation happens locally in your browser using PDF.js and pdf-lib. Nothing is uploaded to any server at any point.
Will the font match the original text when I edit? +
The tool detects the font family used in the PDF and applies the closest matching standard font (Helvetica, Times New Roman, Courier, and their bold and italic variants). True pixel-perfect replication is not possible in a browser-based tool — this is a limitation of all browser-based PDF editors — but the visual result closely matches the original.
How do I add a signature to a PDF? +
Click the Signature button in the toolbar. You can draw a freehand signature, type your name in a cursive style, or upload an image. Click Use This Signature, then click anywhere on the PDF to place it. Drag it to reposition and drag the corner handle to resize.
Can I edit multiple pages? +
Yes. Use the Prev and Next buttons to navigate between pages. You can edit, add text, and place signatures on any page. All changes across all pages are included in the final downloaded PDF.
Are there keyboard shortcuts? +
Yes. Press Ctrl+S (or Cmd+S on Mac) to save and download the PDF at any time. Press Escape to close the text editor popup or the signature modal.
